Saw sector Housing A remarkable development in implementation rates during the fiscal year 2023/2024, after the number of housing units being implemented and implemented was estimated at a total of 433,434 housing units in various axes, with total investments exceeding 52 billion pounds.
According to recent data contained in the statistical summary for the year 2025 issued by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics, the projects varied between economic, average, upper-average, and luxury housing, reflecting the state’s tendency to provide housing units that meet the needs of various social segments.
Economic housing
The economic housing axis topped the scene in terms of the volume of implementation, as it recorded investments amounting to about 23.8 billion pounds, with the implementation of 245.8 thousand housing units, in addition to the completion of the construction of 58.1 thousand units.
Medium housing
The medium housing axis witnessed the implementation of a number of diverse projects, most notably:
- Sakan Misr: Investments of 3 billion pounds, implementation of 16.9 thousand units, and completion of 10.6 thousand units.
- Modern character: investments of 924 million pounds, implementation of 2.7 thousand units, and completion of 5 thousand units.
- New Warraq City, Downtown, and the Latin Quarter: Implementing more than 13,000 units, with a total investment exceeding 2.7 billion pounds.
Housing is above average
The investments in this axis amounted to about 3.1 billion pounds, and included projects such as the above-average axis and the 700-acre compound, with a total of approximately 16 thousand units being implemented.
Luxury housing
The state continued to expand in luxury housing projects with huge investments amounting to about 18.9 billion pounds, which included:
- Ganet Misr: Investments of 1.4 billion pounds, implementation of 14.3 thousand units, and completion of 3.4 thousand units.
- New Capital: Investments of 8.1 billion pounds, implementation of 29.2 thousand units, and completion of 2.3 thousand units.
- New Mansoura, New Alamein and Rab Carrefour: Implementing more than 15 thousand units with a total investment exceeding 9 billion pounds.
These indicators reflect the state’s continued push for implementation rates of residential projects at an accelerating pace, with a focus on diversifying housing patterns and linking them to urban expansion in new cities, in a way that supports sustainable development plans and achieving a balance between supply and demand in the Egyptian real estate market. The data also confirms that the housing sector remains one of the main engines of economic growth, whether in terms of the volume of investments or the direct and indirect job opportunities it provides.
