<p style=Today, Thursday, the Nasr City Misdemeanor Court began hearing the first trial sessions of Egyptian Swimming Federation officials in the drowning case of swimmer Youssef Mohamed.

<p style=Earlier, the Public Prosecution ordered that those accused of causing the death of swimmer Youssef Mohamed Ahmed Abdel Malik be brought to urgent criminal trial on Thursday, December 25, 2025, in addition to its previous statement regarding the incident.

<p style=The Public Prosecution ordered that the Chairman and members of the Swimming Federation’s Board of Directors, its Executive Director, the Chairman of the Federation’s Competitions Committee, the Director of the Tournament and the General Referee, and three members of the rescue crew be brought to criminal trial for wrongly causing the death of the child victim, Youssef Muhammad Ahmed Abdel Malik, by neglecting and failing to perform the tasks assigned to them, grossly breaching the principles of their job, and endangering the lives of the children participating in the Republic Swimming Championship.
