The Directorate of Supply and Internal Trade in Menoufia launched intensive supply campaigns in markets and bakeries in various centers of the governorate, in implementation of the directives of Major General Ibrahim Abu Laymoun, Governor of Menoufia, and within the framework of tightening control over commercial activities, controlling markets, and preventing the circulation of goods of unknown origin.

The campaigns were implemented through the ration departments of the directorate, and resulted in the issuance of 202 various ration reports and violations, including violations in bakeries and markets, within the framework of the governorate’s plan to tighten control over the basic goods system and ensure their access to citizens with appropriate quality and announced prices.

Violations within bakeries varied between underweight bread, non-compliance with specifications, stopping production without permission, in addition to violations of uncleanliness. Campaigns in the markets also monitored violations for not announcing prices, and other catering and commercial violations related to trading goods without official documents.

Regarding the most prominent seizures, a misdemeanor report was filed against a grocery store in the Shuhada Center district, after 3 tons of rice were seized without documents and of unknown origin. Another misdemeanor report was filed against a feed store within the same center, for the seizure of 3 tons of feed without invoices or legal documents.

The total seizures during the campaigns amounted to 6 tons of food commodities and fodder, which were seized, the necessary legal measures were taken against the violators, and the competent investigation authorities were notified.

The Menoufia Supply Directorate confirmed the continuation of intensive daily campaigns on markets and bakeries in all centers, and that it will not tolerate any violations that affect the rights of citizens or threaten their safety, stressing that oversight continues to control prices and prevent monopoly and manipulation of subsidized goods.
