The Qena Criminal Court sentenced two students to 3 years in prison on charges of killing a worker using a knife, because he threatened them with obscene videos to force them to engage in homosexual acts with him at the Qift Center in Qena Governorate.
3 years imprisonment for two students
The ruling was issued under the chairmanship of Counselor Mustafa Ahmed Abdel-Al, with the membership of Counselors Mohab Abdel Hamid Mahmoud, Abu Bakr Yasin Bakr, and Ahmed Abdel Rahim Haridi, in the presence of Sharif Mohamed Mahjoub, the prosecutor, and the secretariat of Salah Farrag, Alaa Suluk, and Mamdouh Taghian.
The events of the case go back to July 23, 2023, when the investigating authorities charged the defendants, A.A., 19 years old, a student, and M.A., 15 years old, a student, with killing the victim, K.M., using a key, and stealing a mobile phone and a power bank.
Investigations revealed that the victim knew the first accused weeks before the incident, and went to the victim’s house, accompanied by the second accused, and committed homosexuality with them. A few days later, he asked them to visit him again to practice homosexuality and threatened them with video clips of them practicing homosexuality with him.
Investigations revealed that the two accused went to the victim to take the videos from him, but he took off his clothes and tried to engage in homosexual acts with the second accused. However, the first accused hit him several times on the head with an English wrench, then strangled him with a piece of cloth until he breathed his last, after which they stole his belongings and fled.
The case No. 7056 of 2023, Qift District Felony, and registered No. 4060 of 2023, Qena, was referred to the Criminal Court, which ruled that the defendants be punished with 3 years’ imprisonment for the first accusation and 6 months’ imprisonment with work for the second accusation.
