Press reports revealed new developments regarding the future Hamza Abdul KarimAl-Ahly club player, in light of the Spanish club Barcelona’s interest in contracting with him during the coming period.
Reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano said on his official YouTube channel that the player expresses a strong desire to experience European professionalism and join the ranks of Barcelona, but Al-Ahly management has been an obstacle to completing the deal so far, due to a dispute over financial aspects.
The Italian confirmed that the Red Castle management believes that the offer submitted by the Spanish club does not reflect the player’s great technical value, and is not commensurate with the expected investment return, which prompted it to adhere to higher financial demands before agreeing to his departure.
In a related context, a source revealed to Cairo 24 that Al-Ahly management made new amendments to the terms of the proposed deal, most notably raising the value of the final purchase clause from 4 to 6 million euros, with an agreement to pay the amount in regular installments starting from the activation of the loan contract.
The source explained that Al-Ahly also stressed the need to include clear contractual clauses that guarantee his rights throughout the period of Hamza Abdel Karim’s presence with the first team, in addition to specifying the mechanism for his participation with the youth team, even during the loan period specified for six months.
The Red Castle management also requested that the resale percentage be reconsidered, by increasing it from 15% to 30%, in order to ensure greater benefit to the club in the future if the player moves again.
The source confirmed that resolving the file is imminent, and it is expected to happen within the next few days, especially since Al-Ahly’s approval was conditional on amending the contractual terms, and not an objection to the idea of a loan or free of charge for the first six months, which reflects the club’s flexibility in dealing with the offer.
It is expected that a new session will be held that brings together Al-Ahly officials and their counterparts in Barcelona in the coming days, to reach a final formula that officially determines the fate of the deal.
