The price of gold in spot transactions rose today, Wednesday, by 2.2% to record $5,044.74 per ounce, after jumping 5.9% yesterday, Tuesday, which is its largest daily gain since November 2008, as gold reached a record level of $5,594.82 last Thursday, and US gold futures for April rose 2.7% to $5,067.0 per ounce.
Gold prices rise
As for other precious metals, the price of silver in spot transactions rose 2.1% to $86.92 per ounce. It reached a record level of $121.64 last Thursday.
The price of platinum in spot transactions rose 2.3% to $2,260.50 per ounce after recording its highest level ever at $2,918.80 on January 26, and the price of palladium increased approximately three percent to $1,782.85.
