OpenAI announced the launch of a new feature called ChatGPT Health, which aims to provide a dedicated space for users to have conversations related to health and fitness with the famous chatbot, in a move that reflects the growing reliance on artificial intelligence in this sensitive field.

OpenAI unveils a version of the GPT chat application

According to what was published by The Sun website, the company said that more than 230 million users ask questions related to health and wellness on GBT Chat weekly, but the new feature separates these conversations from other chats, so that the user’s health context is not used within general conversations.

According to “OpenAI”, if the user starts talking about health issues outside the Health section, the system will alert him and suggest that he move to the designated space.

At the same time, ChatGPT Health can make limited use of certain prior general information, such as knowing that a user is an athlete if they have previously requested a training plan for a marathon.

The new feature supports integration with health and fitness applications, such as Apple Health, MyFitnessPal, and Function, allowing personal data or health records to be linked, with OpenAI confirming that it will not use Health conversations to train its models.

In an official blog post, Fidji Simo, CEO of the applications sector at OpenAI, explained that ChatGPT Health comes in response to challenges facing the healthcare sector, such as high costs, difficulty in accessing services, appointment pressure on doctors, in addition to poor continuity of care.
