I specified Judicial court Administrative Council of State, February 22 session to consider the first sessions Lawsuit Established to demand the dismissal of Captain Hossam Hassan, the technical director of the first national football team, and his supporting staff, the dissolution of the Egyptian Football Association, and the dismissal of the Minister of Youth and Sports, against the backdrop of the decline in the national team’s results and the recent loss.

A lawsuit demands the dismissal of Hossam Hassan and his assistant staff and the dissolution of the Football Association

Dr. Hani Al-Sadiq, a lawyer at the Supreme Court of Cassation and Constitutional Court, filed a lawsuit in which the Prime Minister, the Minister of Youth and Sports, and the President of the Egyptian Football Association disputed the case, as he carried Case No. 28094 of 80 BC.

The lawsuit revealed that football represents one of the most important tributaries of national pride for Egyptians, but in recent years it has witnessed a noticeable decline in the level of results and management, and has turned into an area for wasting public money and administrative corruption, in light of the absence of accountability within the Football Association, despite the state’s great financial support for the football system.

The lawsuit added that the Egyptian fans were counting a lot on the current Football Association Board of Directors to restore the glories of the national team, which has a great continental history, but the reality was disappointing, after the team failed to achieve results befitting its history, and was eliminated from African and Arab tournaments in front of technically inferior teams.

The lawsuit referred to the decision of the Egyptian Football Association, issued on February 6, 2024, to appoint Captain Hossam Hassan as technical director of the first national team, explaining that the decision came in response to a wide public desire, but the results did not witness a noticeable improvement, and failures continued, in light of what the lawsuit described as the technical director not having sufficient training experience to keep pace with the great development in African football, especially with many of the teams having professional players in major international leagues.

The lawsuit explained that the continued failures despite Egypt having a number of professional players at the highest international level raises serious questions about the reasons for repeated failure, especially at a time when Egypt is achieving global achievements in other sports such as squash, handball, and karate.
The lawsuit confirmed that the national team’s technical staff costs the state treasury huge amounts of money, as the technical director alone receives approximately one million pounds per month, in addition to the salaries of the supporting staff and the costs of international camps and matches, without achieving tangible results on the ground, which the lawsuit considered a clear waste of public money.

The lawsuit added that the House of Representatives had previously discussed many briefing requests related to financial and administrative violations within the Football Association, which included the unlawful disbursement of millions of pounds, and the failure to include revenues from continental championships in the Federation’s budget, in addition to financial violations estimated at millions of dollars, which the lawsuit considered a violation of national sports security.

At its conclusion, the lawsuit demanded that the lawsuit be accepted in form, the dissolution of the Egyptian Football Association, the dismissal of the national team’s technical director, Hossam Hassan, and his assistant staff, and the dismissal of the Minister of Youth and Sports.
