As an Egyptian and a citizen who is jealous of his country’s image and identity, I find myself forced to express my complete rejection of what we are witnessing recently in the export of alien models to our society, which have unfortunately turned into something like a cultural virus that spreads without awareness or control.
What we see today of characters known by names and verbs that lack any artistic or human value, most notably what is called the Troubles and the like, does not represent the real Egypt that we know and are proud of.
Egypt, which raised us that its people are known for their courage, chivalry, respect, and awareness, cannot be reduced to low content or scenes that offend public taste and distort the image of society.
What is happening is not freedom of expression, but rather a systematic distortion of culture and normalization to a level that is not worthy of Egypt’s history, its men, or its women. What is even more dangerous is presenting these models as a trend or success, while in reality they are a reflection of intellectual chaos and a decline in standards.
I clearly affirm: I am against this level, and I do not accept that this is the Egypt we are known as to the world.
We need a serious stance from the media, content makers, and relevant institutions, to rehabilitate values and highlight honorable models, instead of granting platforms to those who only deserve to be ignored.
May God protect Egypt and its people.
