It was conducted by Dr. Mohamed Gamal Ahmed, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health In AssiutA surprise field tour began at one o’clock in the morning and continued until five in the morning on Friday, and included a number of hospitals and medical centers in the governorate, to ensure the discipline of work progress and the provision of medical services to citizens in accordance with standards of quality and dignity.

He was accompanied during the tour by a delegation that included Dr. Ahmed Sayed Musa, Deputy Director of the Directorate, Dr. Issam Nabil, Director General of Therapeutic Medicine, Dr. Ali Shoman, Director of the Basic Care Department, Dr. Jamal Al-Nashar, Director of the Medical Services Department, Dr. Ahmed Abdel Hakim, member of the Directorate Follow-up Department, and Hani Suleiman from the Financial and Administrative Inspection Department.

The tour included Sidfa Central Hospital, Al-Ghanaim Central Hospital, and family medicine centers in the villages of (Al-Mutia, Baqour). And family medicine units in the villages of (Majaris, Al-Azaiza).

During his tour, Dr. Muhammad Jamal formally thanked the staff at the Family Medicine Center in the village of “Al-Mutia” and the Family Medicine Center in the village of “Baqour” for their dedication and presence at the helm of work.

On the other hand, he decided to refer those who were absent from work in the night-time staff in the “Majaris” and “Al-Azayza” units for investigation, in addition to referring the absent doctors at Al-Ghanaim Central and Sadfa Central Hospitals to the Legal Affairs Department at the Directorate’s office to take legal measures, in addition to referring the Director of the Central Hospital of Al-Ghanaim, the hospital administration, the Director of the Health Administration at the Al-Ghanaim Center, the Director of the Health Administration at the Sadfa Center, and inspection officials for investigation into the Legal Affairs Department at the Directorate’s office, with the incentive of supervision being deducted due to a failure in supervision and follow-up.

In his statement after the tour, Dr. Muhammad Jamal confirmed that “his office is open to everyone,” stressing that the patient’s dignity and receiving appropriate treatment is a “red line” that cannot be tolerated. He pointed out that the directorate’s vision is not limited to developing buildings and equipment only, but also extends to the good treatment of patients and appreciation of their needs.

He added that he personally follows up on the reports of the unified government complaints system, to ensure rapid response and resolve any obstacle facing citizens as quickly as possible.
