The episode, which aired in 2000 under the title The Computer Wears Menace Shoes, shows Homer Simpson discovering the Internet and starting a gossip blog under the pseudonym Mr.

According to the episode’s scenario, Homer’s story ends with him being arrested and transferred to a mysterious island full of people who know a lot, which followers later linked to the famous Epstein Island.
At the end of the episode, Homer issues a warning through his website about the presence of strange people on an island who secretly run the world.

This similarity between the episode and reality sparked a wave of speculation on social media, with some Internet users describing the series as warning the world of the Epstein scandals 25 years ago.
While others went on to point to allegations related to series creator Matt Groening’s involvement in Epstein’s travels, citing unsealed court documents and allegations from Epstein’s victims, which sparked new controversy over an old episode that seemed to not only predict the future, but was the subject of an internal debate about the crimes of those in power.
