He explained that tomorrow a joint plan will be presented between the agriculture, industry and environment committees to deal with this issue and develop a comprehensive vision for reports related to lime and coverage of canals and drains.
Abdel Nabi added during the plenary session of the Senate that covering canals and drains is the ideal solution to confront the problem of the lack of covered areas, which does not exceed 25% of the total required area.
He stressed the need to intensify efforts in this field to ensure improving the efficiency of the irrigation system.

This came during the plenary session of the Senate, chaired by Counselor Issam Farid, which discussed a request submitted by Dr. Mahmoud Salah regarding the spread of the water hyacinth plant in waterways, and its impact on the irrigation system, water share, and public health, in the presence of Dr. Hani Sweilem, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation.
