Major General Dr. Hisham Abu Al-Nasr, Governor, announced AssiutCompletion of the paving work on Al-Galaa Street in the eastern neighborhood of Assiut, within the framework of the governorate’s comprehensive plan to develop and raise the efficiency of the road network, in a way that contributes to improving the level of services provided to citizens, facilitating traffic movement, and improving the cultural appearance of the city.

The Governor of Assiut confirmed in a statement today, Friday, that the road sector is the top priority for executive work during the current stage, because of its direct impact on the daily lives of citizens, noting that the paving of Al-Galaa Street was included in the investment plan for the current fiscal year, due to its importance as one of the vital streets that witnesses high traffic densities and serves a number of residential areas and government departments in the Sharq neighborhood.

Major General Dr. Hisham Abu Al-Nasr explained that the paving works included implementing the asphalt surface layer after completing the lifting and scraping of the dilapidated layers, and preparing the road according to the technical specifications and approved standard standards, ensuring the sustainability and quality of the works in the long term. He pointed out that the implementation of the paving works was carried out under the supervision of the Directorate of Roads and Transport in Assiut, headed by Engineer Ahmed Salah Fakhry, Director General of the Directorate, who undertook full technical supervision of the implementation, in a way that achieves the highest quality rates and preserves public money.

The governor pointed out that the local unit of the Sharq district, headed by Abu Al-Oyoun Ibrahim, the district head, followed up on implementation on the ground, through continuous coordination with the Roads and Transport Directorate, removing any obstacles that might obstruct the progress of work, and adhering to the specified timetables to ensure the speedy completion of the work without affecting the daily movement of citizens.

Abu Al-Nasr stressed the necessity of continuous monitoring of all ongoing paving projects in various neighborhoods, and ensuring the quality of implementation at all stages, stressing that the governorate is continuing to implement its plan to develop and raise the efficiency of the main streets and axes, in order to achieve better traffic flow and reflect a civilized face befitting the city of Assiut, within the framework of the directives of the political leadership and achieving the goals of Egypt’s Vision 2030.

The Governor of Assiut concluded his statements by emphasizing that the next stage will witness the completion of development works on a number of internal and main streets, according to well-studied priorities aimed at serving the largest number of citizens and improving the quality of life within the governorate.
