The city of Medford, New York State, witnessed an incident that brought to mind the atmosphere of the famous movie Home Alone, after a 12-year-old child succeeded in thwarting an attempt to rob his house during the Christmas holiday, thanks to quick and calm action, according to CBS.

According to what was reported by American media, the child, named Tristan, heard the sound of the kitchen window shattering inside the house, followed by hearing steps indicating the presence of a stranger wandering around the place.
While he was alone, the child decided not to confront him, and chose to escape through the window of his room, where after he left, he was able to see the thief, and he quickly called the emergency services to report the incident.
Tristan said in press statements: I told myself that I had to leave the house as quickly as possible, and I was on the phone with emergency services and waiting for the police to arrive.
His grandmother, Timothy Taylor, expressed her extreme pride in her grandson, praising his calmness and quick behavior, saying: We were proud of his ability to maintain his calm and call the police immediately, a spontaneous and intelligent act without hesitation.
Arrest of the accused
In a related development, the police arrested the suspect, Christian Garcia (53 years old), at the scene of the incident, and charged him with third-degree theft, in addition to possession of tools used to carry out theft crimes.
The incident became a widespread topic of discussion, especially because it coincided with the Christmas atmosphere, and its striking similarity to the events of the movie Home Alone, which is considered one of the most famous Christmas movies in the world.
