Dr. Hassan Al-Noamani, President of Sohag National University, announced the start of implementation of an integrated building for private laboratories at Sohag National University at a cost exceeding 550 million pounds and a capacity of more than 2,700 male and female students, to serve as the first independent laboratory building from the university’s own resources, at the level of the twelve private universities that His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi directed to establish at the level of the governorates of the Republic to follow the public universities.

Al-Numani said that the construction of the building comes as a continuation of the university’s development projects to provide an integrated and advanced educational environment that keeps pace with modern technological standards, on an area of ​​3,540 square meters, to include 80 specialized laboratories to serve the university’s 8 colleges with different programs between medical sciences laboratories, basic sciences, engineering laboratories, and laboratories of the College of Computers, Artificial Intelligence, Languages, and Media.

Hussein Abdel Hafez, Vice President of the University for Academic Affairs, explained that the university is interested in developing educational facilities that help integrate applied practical training with academic study, in order to link education outcomes to the labor market and local and regional development needs, and to support the university education system to achieve sustainable development and Egypt’s 2030 vision.

Dr. Fatima Othman, Director of Engineering Programs and the project’s architectural designer, added that the building consists of a basement, a ground floor, and 4 upper floors with an open courtyard in the middle of an area of 337 square metres. The building provides student services in addition to laboratories, and includes service elements such as a video conference hall, a digital library, a printing press, a carpentry workshop, and a manufacturing workshop. It also includes a number of preparation and administration rooms, some rooms for faculty members, technicians, and warehouses, in addition to a service room for electricity, data, and transformers. It includes 5 stairs. For movement and 4 elevators.
