Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the formation of a new government in the Gaza Strip may be possible early next year, provided that Hamas is disarmed and disappears, stressing that a peace agreement in Gaza depends on the movement’s disarmament, and that this issue must be accomplished.
Netanyahu’s statements about Gaza and Iran
Netanyahu added, during statements to the American Fox News, that Hamas possesses about 20,000 fighters and nearly 60,000 rifles in storage, stressing the need to find and destroy them.
He also stressed that Israel would recover the remains of the last hostage in Gaza by any means, as he claimed, indicating that there was nothing wrong with doing so the easy way when talking about forming a new force in the Gaza Strip.
Regarding the West Bank, Netanyahu said that there are no fundamental differences with US President Donald Trump regarding it, claiming that he desires peaceful coexistence between Israelis and Palestinians living in the West Bank, but at the same time he stressed that Israel must militarily control the West Bank in the end.
Regarding Iran, Netanyahu claimed that Tehran is trying to rebuild its nuclear and missile capabilities in sites that were not bombed, and is seeking to restore its ability to produce ballistic missiles, warning that any Iranian targeting of Israel with missiles will have catastrophic consequences.
He continued his threats by saying that Israel does not want escalation with Iran, expressing his hope that Tehran will not make any mistake, and that there is still some work to be done on this file.
In another context, Netanyahu revealed that Somaliland wants to join the Abraham Accords, considering that it differs democratically from the rest of Somalia, he said.
