The Directorate of Agriculture in Fayoum Governorate launched an expanded inspection campaign on stores selling pesticides and agricultural fertilizers in a number of governorate centers, including Fayoum and Tamiya, as part of the efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation to tighten control over markets and catch violations.

The campaign came in implementation of the directives of Alaa Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Dr. Mohamed Hani Ghoneim, Governor of Fayoum, and the instructions of Dr. Osama Diab, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture in the governorate.

Engineer Marwa Kamal Al-Sufi, General Manager of Administration, continued ControlThe committee’s work took place during visits to shops and villages, where the sources of pesticides and fertilizers on offer were examined, and they were verified to be registered with the Ministry of Agriculture and authorized for circulation, in addition to following up on the availability of approved pesticides within agricultural associations.
During the campaign, the committee stressed to shop owners the need to commit not to trade in any unregistered pesticides or fertilizers, and to quickly complete the procedures for obtaining and renewing licenses, to avoid legal accountability.
The campaign also took place under the supervision of Engineer Fikri Sultan Abdel Fattah, Head of the Directorate’s Oversight Department, and in coordination with the Water Bodies Police in Fayoum, where participants confirmed taking the necessary legal measures regarding any violations detected, within the framework of preserving the safety of agricultural production and the health of citizens.
