The initial inspection of a fire in 3 factories in the Arab Mahdi Aboul Gheit area, affiliated with the Qanater Charity Center in Qalyubia Governorate, revealed that the cause of the fire was due to an electrical short circuit, which led to the fire igniting and spreading between the factories.
The civil protection forces were able to control the fire, after sending a number of fire engines and imposing a security cordon to prevent the fire from spreading to neighboring areas.
The competent authorities are continuing their efforts to complete the cooling work and prevent the recurrence of the ignition, while a report has been drawn up on the incident, and the Public Prosecution has been notified to initiate investigations.
The Civil Protection Forces sent 10 fire engines to the site of the accident to deal with the fire and control it. They were also directed to cut off the electricity and gas supplies to the area as a precautionary measure.
The fire resulted in a fire breaking out inside a wood manufacturing factory on an area estimated at approximately 1,000 square metres. It also spread to (2) plastic injection factories on an area of 1,000 square meters for each factory, with a total area of up to 3,000 square meters for the three factories.
