Ministry revealed Agriculture And Land Reclamation, announced the total vaccination doses that were implemented within the national campaign to vaccinate livestock against foot-and-mouth disease and Rift Valley fever, which has so far exceeded 8.1 million vaccination doses, since the launch of the campaign launched by the General Authority for Veterinary Services in all governorates of the Republic.

According to an official report received by Alaa Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, from Dr. Hamid Musa Al-Aqnas, Chairman of the General Authority for Veterinary Services, on the efforts and activities of the national campaign to vaccinate livestock, field veterinary teams in all governorates have so far vaccinated more than 4.2 million heads of livestock against foot-and-mouth disease, in addition to vaccinating more than 3.9 million heads of livestock with the Rift Valley fever vaccine, pointing out that the campaign continues to continue its efforts so far in all areas. The report indicated that vaccination campaigns are carried out periodically, three times a year, within the framework of the state’s plan to build strong and sustainable immunity in livestock, ensuring their protection from epidemic diseases, and contributing to supporting food security for citizens.

The head of the General Authority for Veterinary Services added that, in parallel with the vaccination work, intensive guidance campaigns are being carried out, and field visits to livestock markets to disinfect them and follow up on the health status of the animals, in addition to epidemiological investigation work, and providing technical and awareness support to breeders in all villages and centres.

The General Authority for Veterinary Services renewed its appeal to all breeders to fully cooperate with the ongoing national campaign, and to expedite the vaccination of their livestock on the specified dates, in order to preserve livestock, stressing the continued receipt of reports and requests for vaccination and support through the hotline 19561.
