A specialized medical team in the Urology and Genital Surgery Department at the hospital succeeded Sohag Year in saving the penis of a 38-year-old young man, after he suffered a severe bruise that caused a rupture and rupture of the corpus cavernosum on the right side, with a rupture of the lining membranes and the occurrence of a large blood pool, which put him in an emergency and dangerous condition that required urgent surgical intervention.

The Reception and Emergency Department received the patient who was suffering from severe swelling and severe pain as a result of a large blood pool. The necessary tests were immediately carried out, and a decision was made for immediate surgical intervention to preserve the organ and its vital function.
The medical team that performed the surgery included Dr. Abdullah Sadaqa Musa, a specialist in urinary and reproductive tract surgery, Dr. Muhammad Al-Sayed, a resident physician, Dr. Islam Shaheen, a resident physician, and from the Anesthesia Department, Dr. Ismail Amin, head of the department, and Dr. Magdy Hussein, anesthesia consultant, with the participation of the nursing staff led by Supervisor Zainab Abdel Naeem, Arwa Asaad, and Shaima Mahmoud.
The surgical intervention was based on two main axes: the first was controlling bleeding, extracting the blood pool, and carefully cleaning the site of the injury, and the second was repairing the tear and rupture of the corpora cavernosa and the lining membranes, ensuring the preservation of the patient’s vital function and marital capacity.
Following the surgery, the patient underwent an intensive care program that included a precise treatment protocol with antibiotics and regular daily follow-up, until the wound recovered and he returned to living his normal life.
In the same context, the hospital director thanked and appreciated the medical team, the nursing staff, and the anesthesia department, stressing that this success reflects the efficiency of the hospital’s medical staff and their ability to deal with delicate surgical cases according to the latest medical standards, with the administration’s continued support for developing health services provided to the people of Sohag Governorate.
