A trend in Zamalek to extend the negative rest period for the team’s players
The team was scheduled to return to training within the next few hours, but the technical staff is considering extending the rest period for some time until financial matters are settled.
Zamalek players received a five-day rest before the team’s match against Al-Ittihad Alexandria in the Capital Cup, in light of a state of anger that prevailed among them due to the delay in disbursing their financial dues.
According to what Cairo 24 learned from its sources, it seems that the decision to extend the rest is the most likely in the coming period, in an attempt to calm the atmosphere within the team until the dues crisis ends.
The club’s management is currently working to find a solution to this financial crisis, as the council continues its attempts to resolve this issue in the coming hours to ensure that the players return to training in a more stable atmosphere, and with sources within the club confirming, there are great efforts to overcome this crisis and achieve consensus between the players and the administration, especially since these dues directly affect the morale of the players.
Zamalek had lost in its last match against Al-Ittihad of Alexandria by three goals to nothing, in the match played with Al-Shabab players, so that Zamalek’s tally stopped at four points, from a victory over Haras El-Hodoud with two goals to one, a draw with Kahraba Ismailia with three goals for each team, and a loss from Al-Ittihad and Smouha.
