The famous video site YouTube, affiliated with Alphabet Inc., crashed on Tuesday evening, affecting more than 240,000 users in the United States, and expanding to include a number of countries around the world, according to data from the Downdetector website, which specializes in tracking disruptions in digital services.

The popular video site YouTube has crashed

A number of YouTube users complained about a sudden malfunction that struck the platform, as they reported that the site was not working normally, and only appeared to them as a white screen without loading the home page or video clips, which prevented them from being able to browse or play the content, whether on mobile phones or computers.

The data showed that 240,707 reports of problems were recorded on the platform as of 7:59 pm EST, as the site relies on collecting user reports from several sources to monitor outages in real time, according to the Downdetector website.

Technical reports stated that the malfunction affected both the application and the website, as users reported the inability to play videos, whether on mobile phones or computers, with the appearance of error messages or a complete cessation of the service.

The problems also extended to the YouTube TV service, in addition to some Google services, according to media reports, while there was no immediate comment from the company about the causes of the malfunction or the date for the complete restoration of the service.
