She spent Economic Misdemeanor Court Imprisoning a lawyer nominated for membership in the Bar Council for a period of six months, fining him 20,000 pounds, and obliging him to pay temporary civil compensation of ten thousand pounds in favor of Dr. Hani Sameh, against the backdrop of his conviction for committing crimes of insult, defamation, and intentional harassment through the means of communication, and assaulting Minister Kamel Al-Wazir, lawyer Ashraf Nabil, and Dr. Hani Sameh.

The ruling came after extensive investigations and a careful technical examination conducted by the competent authorities, which concluded that it was proven that the accused committed the incidents attributed to him, and used information technology means to insult, defame, and disturb the victims, which constitute crimes punishable in accordance with the provisions of the Penal Code and the Law on Combating Information Technology Crimes.
In a separate context, the Economic Misdemeanor Court in Cairo ruled on Saturday, Lawyer Montaser Al-Zayat was fined 20,000 pounds, in the case in which he was accused of mobilizing his supporters online to influence the course of justice, and committing incidents of insult, defamation, and threats using social media.

The session witnessed the presence of the defendant’s defense team, as well as the defense of Dr. Hani Sameh, the lawyer submitting the communication, who insisted on claiming civil rights and obliging the accused to pay temporary compensation of one million pounds, while the court decided to reserve the case for judgment after completing the pleadings and reviewing the case papers.
The facts of the case go back to a report submitted by Dr. Hani Sameh, in which he accused Al-Zayat of using a live broadcast on Facebook to incite a mass gathering in front of the State Council, influencing the hearings of pending lawsuits, in addition to directing insults, defamation, and threats against his opponents.
