The Armant El-Heit area, Luxor Governorate, witnessed an accident in which a 4-year-old child died after he drowned in the waters of the Ghard Canal.

The security services of the Luxor Security Directorate received a notification from the operations room stating that a report had been received about the incident occurring in the aforementioned area.

Immediately, security services, accompanied by ambulances and rescue teams, moved to the report site. The specialized teams, assisting the families, were able to recover the child’s body from the canal water.

The body was transported by ambulance to the morgue of Horus Specialized Hospital in the city of Armant.

The body was placed at the disposal of the competent investigation authorities, which began their work to determine the causes and circumstances of the incident.

Transport of the body and legal procedures

The necessary report on the incident was prepared, and the Public Prosecution was notified to initiate investigations.

The medical authorities at Horus Specialized Hospital are working to complete the medical report, in preparation for issuing a burial permit and handing over the body to his family to complete the procedures.
