Spokesman Mahmoud Naji confirmed Ministry of Petroleum And Mineral Resources, said that next summer will not witness any reduction in electrical loads, denying the rumors that were circulating in this regard, following previous clarifications from the Council of Ministers regarding the incorrectness of this news.
Petroleum spokesman: No load shedding in the summer of 2026 and full provision for the needs of power stations
Mahmoud Naji said, during a television intervention, that the ministry succeeded during the summer of last year in fully meeting the fuel needs of power stations, without resorting to load shedding.
He explained that the Ministry continues to work to secure the electricity sector’s fuel needs, whether through local production or through import, noting that advance plans are being made and contracts are being concluded to ensure stable supplies during peak periods.
He added that current efforts aim to enhance natural gas production locally, which will contribute to reducing dependence on imports and reducing the country’s total import bill during the coming period.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Petroleum stressed that all measures taken aim to ensure a safe summer in terms of energy availability and stability of electrical supply in various parts of the Republic.
