The village of Al-Sarib, affiliated with the Esna Center, south of Luxor Governorate, witnessed the overturning accident of the Decouville train carriage designated for transporting the sugarcane crop.

The overturn of the vehicle loaded with crops led to it deviating from the track and directly colliding with a taxi that was located in the vicinity of the accident site.

Immediately after the accident occurred, the concerned authorities received notification of the details of the incident to direct rapid intervention teams and the Traffic Department to the location.

The competent authorities are working to inspect the site and determine the damage to the taxi, in addition to taking the necessary measures to raise the train car and clear the road to allow traffic.

This accident coincides with the peak of the sugarcane harvest season in the governorates of Upper Egypt, where sugar factories rely heavily on Deauville train lines to transport the crop from agricultural lands.
