An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.2 struck western Japan on Tuesday, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.

The Japan Meteorological Agency explained that the epicenter of the earthquake was in the eastern part of Shimane Prefecture, south of Honshu Island, adding that no tsunami warning had been issued.

In the same context, the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center stated that the location of the earthquake was on the western island of Honshu and occurred at 35.296 north and 133.278 east, with a depth of 10 km.
