The FaceTime application on Apple devices allows you to chat with up to 32 people at once, so it is a good option for video chatting if you do not want to download another application to make group video calls, and if everyone you want to chat with uses Apple devices. Note: To use the app you need to update the operating system to iOS 12.1.4 or later on your iPhone 6S or later, iPod touch (7th generation), iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, iPad (5th generation), iPad mini 4 or later.
How to use FaceTime to easily start a group video call:
Firstly : Using the application: You can use the FaceTime application on iPhone to start a group call, and if you are already chatting with a group using the Messages application, you can start a group FaceTime session directly.
- Go to the application,
- Click on the (+) icon in the top right corner.
- In the To field; Type the names or numbers of the people you want to talk to. If they are in your contact list, their names will appear as you type, and you can click on each name to add them to the call. You can also tap on the circle with the (+) symbol inside it to open the contacts list and select people, tap on their names to open contacts and then tap on their numbers to add them.
- Press the green video button to start a video call or the audio button to start a voice call.
secondly: Use the Messages app: Open the Messages app. Open a group chat or an existing conversation in the Messages app. Click on your contacts icons at the top of the screen. Click the FaceTime icon to start the call.
Add someone to a FaceTime call during a call;
- Click on the (+) icon.
- Click on the Add Person option.
- Enter the contact’s name, phone number, or email
- Click on the (Add Person to FaceTime) option.
How to join a group call in FaceTime:
There are several ways to join a group video call:
- Tap the notification (if you get one), then tap the video button that appears at the bottom of the screen.
- Open the group chat or conversation in the Messages app, a FaceTime call will appear
- Click on the (Join) button that appears inside the bubble.
Once you open the app, you will see a list of all your recent and active calls, and any calls you can join will be highlighted in green with a green video button next to it. Click on the button, then click on the Join option.
To leave the conference call, tap the screen, then tap the (X) button.
Third: Use a Mac: You can also make FaceTime audio and video calls from your Mac, as long as it’s running macOS Mojave 10.14.3 or later, and you’ll also need to sign in with your Apple ID. Open the application on your device. Type the names, phone numbers, or email addresses of the people you want to talk to in the search bar.
Click the video or audio icon, depending on the type of call you want to make. Tap the video or audio button at the bottom left of the screen to start the call. This notification will be sent to the people you want to talk to, and they will need to click on this notification, then press the Join button in the pop-up window that appears.
