The Internal Trade Department established a Supply Directorate Sohag Implementing an intensive monitoring campaign that resulted in the seizure and destruction of 2 tons of expired food commodities and medicines.

The campaign included the destruction of large quantities of expired food commodities that pose a threat to the health of citizens, in addition to the destruction of 2,000 expired medicine packages that were banned from circulation in the markets based on the decision issued by the competent authorities.
These campaigns aim to protect the health and safety of citizens from counterfeit or expired goods that may cause health damage. The Sohag Supply Directorate also confirmed that it will continue to monitor the markets and combat any illegal commercial practices, and ensure that commercial stores and pharmacies adhere to approved health standards.
The Directorate confirmed that it will continue its intensive monitoring efforts to ensure that such harmful goods are not traded, in order to preserve the safety of citizens, as part of its ongoing plan to provide a safe and clean commercial environment.
This was based on the directives of Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, Dr. Major General Abdel Fattah Siraj, Governor of Sohag, and the directives of Dr. Sameh Al-Tuni, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply in Sohag, and Engineer Effat Refaat, Undersecretary of the Directorate for Control Affairs.
