Twitter announced that it now supports Live Photos
Live photos are supported by many phones, as Apple launched Live Photos alongside the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, and higher phones. It was a good moment today, when Twitter announced on its platform that it will now support Live Photos. Technically. But instead of sharing it as a regular photo on Twitter, you’ll actually be sharing it as a GIF.
Live Photos add movement to a photo taken on a device supported by this feature. Live Photos makes the phone take a video before and after the photo is taken, giving the photos more beauty than a regular photo. But while the photo feature is great, social networks haven’t been keen on supporting it before. This is because many users of phones that support this feature do not turn on Live Photo on their phones, even when sharing them.
Anyway, here’s the Twitter announcement:
Twitter published the above tweets to show the animation, and Twitter shared a Live Photo in GIF format. To get users started using this type of photo, you can now upload your Live Photo to Twitter.
