Google unveiled the Titan M2 security chip with the Pixel 6 phones in 2021, and continued to adopt it until the Pixel 10 series. With more than four years having passed since its introduction, it has become natural for the company to begin preparing for a new, more advanced generation.

According to a recent leak, Google is preparing to launch the new Titan M3 chip later this year in conjunction with the Tensor G6 processor in the Pixel 11 series.

Until now, it is not clear what exact improvements the upcoming chip will offer, but its internal code name (Google Epic) suggests a noticeable leap compared to the previous generation.

As a reminder, the Titan M2 chip undertakes basic tasks such as securing the boot process, protecting the encryption keys stored on the device, preventing downgrades to older versions of the system, in addition to verifying the screen lock code.

It is also designed to remain immune even if the Android system or Tensor processor is compromised.
