Within the framework of following up on development plans and raising the efficiency of services, he conducted Lieutenant General Osama Rabie, Chairman of the Suez Canal AuthorityAn inspection tour in Suez Governorate, which included a number of work sites affiliated with the Authority, to discuss ways of joint cooperation and follow up on the implementation of vital projects.

Strengthening cooperation with Suez Governorate

The Chairman of the Authority held a meeting with Major General Hani Rashad, Governor of Suez, in the presence of leaders from both sides, to discuss prospects for joint cooperation and support development efforts in the governorate.

Rabie stressed the authority’s keenness to enhance its societal role and contribute to achieving sustainable development, especially in the areas of localization of marine industries and providing job opportunities, in addition to supporting the health care sector.

On the other hand, the governor stressed the importance of the authority’s role as a major partner in supporting development, while looking forward to more cooperation during the next stage.

Follow up on the work of the Suez Naval Shipyard

The tour included an inspection of the Suez Naval Shipyard, where the Chairman of the Authority followed the ongoing maintenance and repair work for a number of tugs and marine units, including the tugs “Ansar 20”, “Long Live Misr 3” and “Long Live Misr 4”.

He also reviewed the comprehensive Umrah operations of marine units, the development of the floating dock, in addition to efforts to raise the efficiency of the company’s equipment and operational capabilities.

A plan to develop the docks in Port Tawfiq

The Chairman of the Authority went to the Port Tawfiq Movements Department to follow up on the work of developing the maritime berths, which aims to increase the depth to 9 meters and a length of 325 meters, allowing the accommodation of the new tugs within the plan to modernize the maritime fleet.

He directed to accelerate the pace of implementation to complete the first phase on time.
Support partnership with the private sector
The tour reviewed the company’s trends towards enhancing cooperation with the private sector in implementing specialized projects, especially in the fields of renewable energy, which contributes to maximizing the use of available capabilities and raising operating efficiency.

Follow up on the level of health services

The Chairman of the Authority was keen to inspect the Suez Canal Authority Hospital in Port Tawfiq, where he followed the progress of work in the emergency departments, outpatient clinics, and dialysis unit, in addition to checking on the readiness of the intensive care and operating rooms.

He also visited the new outpatient clinic complex in Hodh Al Darras, which includes various medical specialties, and reviewed patients’ opinions regarding the level of services provided.

Directions to continue development and raise efficiency

The Chairman of the Authority concluded his tour by emphasizing the importance of continuing work to develop assets and improve performance, while rationalizing energy consumption, and supporting modernization efforts in a way that enhances work efficiency within the Authority and serves development goals.
