Spotify is making headlines today, but this time not because of a new price increase, but because of an innovative feature coming to the audiobooks section within the app.
Recent reports revealed a new feature called Page Match, which aims to link the traditional reading experience with digital listening in a smart way. This feature allows the user to take a photo of a page from a paper book, and the application can then move it directly to the same position within the audio version of the book.
Furthermore, the feature works both ways, as it also displays the corresponding page number in the physical book based on the current progress point within the audiobook.
According to the information, Page Match was discovered within the code of the latest version of the Spotify application, and although it is not currently activated, the presence of its interface confirms that the company is already working on it and is expected to launch it soon.

It is important to note that the feature will require that you own the audiobook or open it previously via Spotify, and it will only be available in markets that support the audiobook service. Although Amazon offers a similar service, it is limited to syncing between audiobooks and e-books only, without supporting paper books.
