The German PlayStation Direct store has already sold out two out of three colors of the new Hyperpop controllers, with only the blue version currently available for pre-order, while the red or green version can no longer be added to the shopping cart.

This is unusual for a design that is not associated with a popular game series, as is the case with many other special console releases.

It remains unclear whether Sony will open a second round of pre-orders in regions where stocks have run out, although the company has done so on previous occasions, such as the 30th Anniversary console that was re-released several months later in the PlayStation Direct store.

There’s also still a chance to get your hands on these new DualSense devices for PS5 via some participating stores, with prices starting at $549 on Amazon, while all three colors in the Hyperpop series are currently available at Sony’s US online store.

On the other hand, console covers will be subject to more restrictions. Sony explained that the matching PS5 covers will be available in limited quantities in select markets at a price of $74.99, and as of now, they are still available in most PlayStation Direct stores.
