The Samsung QN80F is one of the most important Samsung mini LED screens in the 2025 category. It comes as a “mid-range” option, but it is clearly aimed at people who want a strong image and a complete gaming experience without paying the price of the higher categories, such as the QN90F.

From the first moment, the TV gives a premium feel. The edges are very thin, and the shiny metal frame enhances the elegance of the design, while the thickness is slightly larger than the higher categories, but without affecting the appearance of the screen from the front. The center stand is stable and sturdy, but it requires space and may bother you if you have a large sound bar.

The size on which the experiment was conducted is 65 inches with a 4K resolution, with a Neo QLED Mini LED panel, and a native frequency of 100Hz that increases to 144Hz in gaming mode. This gives the screen excellent flexibility between daily use and fast-paced content.

Image quality: Excellent colors, but the problem of reflections is obvious

QN80F delivers strong and natural colors at the same time. HDR displays fine details, and blacks are very good for a mid-range mini LED. Local dimming significantly reduces halos, leaving dark scenes looking cleaner than most competitors at the same price.

In terms of brightness, the screen reaches approximately 1100nits in a 10% window, which is good, but less than some Hisense and TCL screens that provide higher brightness at a cheaper price. The screen’s full brightness is excellent, suitable for average rooms, but it excels in very bright environments.

The most notable drawback of the screen is reflections. The panel is clearly reflective, and with diffused lighting or windows, objects reflect directly onto the screen especially in dark scenes.

Motion is generally good. In movies, smoothing at low levels gives you smooth, soap-free action, but in sports some minor distortion appears, a point where the QN90F or some competitors excel.

Sound: Enough for daily use only

With a 30W, 4-channel sound system and Dolby Atmos support, the sound is clear and suitable for everyday viewing. Dialogue comes through clearly, and the voice direction is linked to the movement on the screen. But the bass is weak, which does not give a real cinematic experience. Therefore, adding a sound bar is almost essential for movie lovers.

Gaming: The QN80F’s strong point

If you are a gamer, here is the screen that offers its strongest features:

Four full HDMI 2.1 ports

4K 144Hz

FreeSync Premium Pro

ALLM

HDR10+ Gaming

The Input Lag is approximately 9.9ms, which is very excellent for competitive games.
Games appear with strong colors and excellent contrast in Game mode, and with the Gaming Hub you can gather all cloud gaming services in one place.

This screen is mainly designed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series

Smart System: Tizen 9.0 – the best version so far

Tizen 9.0 brings big changes:

For You page for recommendations

Customizable apps row

Four main hubs: Home, Game, Daily+, Art Store

The ability to display artworks when the TV is turned off, such as The Frame

The system is fast, and switching between applications is easy, but some settings are still buried within several layers and this may bother new users.

It suits you if:

Your room has average lighting

You need a powerful screen for gaming
