Samsung is preparing to raise its initial production plan for the Galaxy S26 Ultra, according to a new report issued by South Korea, coinciding with the approaching official announcement expected during the Unpacked event tomorrow.
The company initially planned to produce between 2.5 and 2.9 million units during the first two months, but it revised the number to between 3.5 and 3.9 million units, an increase of approximately one million additional devices, which is a noticeable increase at this early stage.
However, the report is based on a knowledgeable industry source, which means it should be treated with caution. The reason for raising production, according to circulated information, is due to Samsung’s preparation for higher manufacturing costs later, especially with expectations of an increase in semiconductor prices during the coming period.

In other words, the decision does not necessarily reflect expectations of higher sales in the first months, but rather appears to be a proactive move to secure more inventory at a lower cost ahead of any potential component price increases. This hypothesis is supported by the fact that the overall annual production plan has not changed.
Samsung aims to produce about 18 million units of the Galaxy S26 Ultra during its first year, which indicates its great confidence in this model in particular.
For comparison, the company plans to produce only about 12 million units of the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ combined, which reinforces expectations that the Ultra version will be the best-selling within the series.
