The match between Côte d’Ivoire and Gabon, which brought together the two teams on the pitch of the Marrakesh Stadium, ended a short while ago, for the final round of the group stage of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Côte d’Ivoire national team decided the result of its match against its Gabonese counterpart, by winning 3-2 in the final hour, through a special comeback, after they were first two goals behind, before returning and scoring a hat-trick that gave them the top spot in Group Six.
The match between Côte d’Ivoire and Gabon started with great intensity, especially on the part of Aubameyang’s teammates, after they were able to snatch an early lead in the 11th minute through Joel Kanga, while Denis Bouanga was able to double the score with the second goal in the 21st minute.
Two minutes before the end of the first half, Jean-Philippe Crasseau managed to reduce the score in favor of the Ivorian Elephants, ending the half with Gabon leading 2-1.
In the second half, coach Emersey Faye’s squad entered with great force in order to snatch a tie and then win to take the lead in the group, which was achieved late by scoring the second goal in the 83rd minute by player Ivan Gissand.
Bazumana Toure was able to snatch the fatal third goal in the 91st minute of the match, turning the tables, and the Elephants leading the group at the expense of the Cameroon national team.
With this result, Côte d’Ivoire qualified in first place, then Cameroon in second place, then Mozambique qualified among the best third-placed teams.
The Côte d’Ivoire national team set a date with the Burkina Faso national team in the round of 16, with the winner of the two facing the winner of the Egypt-Benin match, which means the possibility of a major summit between Egypt and Côte d’Ivoire in the quarter-finals.
