Reports from earlier this year claimed that OnePlus had postponed its plans to release the OnePlus 15S. However, it now appears that the 15S, which was supposed to be a direct successor to the 13S based on last year’s OnePlus 13T, has returned to the forefront.

OnePlus has appeared to be shrinking its global smartphone business recently, leading to reports that the company is preparing to close its doors in the near future. The company has since denied those rumours, but a new leak raises some mystery.

As leaker Yogesh Brar shared, OnePlus has now resumed its plans to release the OnePlus 15S this year. The company launched the OnePlus 13T in China and renamed it as OnePlus 13S for the Indian market with some hardware differences. The 15T will succeed the 13T in China, and while previous reports claimed that the company has postponed its plans to launch the 15S, it appears that the compact phone may finally be on its way.

However, it’s not all good news. The source claims to have heard not-so-good things about OnePlus, which may lend credence to those previous rumors about the company’s overall business plans. Additionally, while the 15S may be making a comeback, the leaker claims that the 6.3-inch phone will arrive with revised cameras. The big question, of course, will be whether the mentioned changes to its camera system are positive or not. We’ll keep you posted either way.
