NVIDIA announced DLSS 4.5 during CES 2026 in Las Vegas on January 6, 2026. DLSS 4.5 is a major update to DLSS 4, with a focus on improving image quality and frame generation.
Major improvements include The second generation of Transformer Super Resolution, now available for all RTX cards (20, 30, 40, 50 series), provides better temporal stability, reduced ghosting, and improved anti-aliasing, with a larger training dataset and 5x the computing power compared to DLSS 4.
As well as improving Dynamic Multi Frame Generation (6x), which is expected to arrive in spring 2026 exclusively for the RTX 50 series, it supports multipliers of up to 6x (5 additional frames for each original frame), to achieve 4K performance at 240Hz in path-traced games, with automatic frame adjustment according to the refresh rate.
DLSS 4.5 supports over 400 games and applications via NVIDIA, with real-time support for games like DOOM: The Dark Ages, PRAGMATA, and Resident Evil Requiem. NVIDIA also announced RTX Remix Logic, which enables dynamic environmental interactions in modified games (more than 30 events such as opening doors or weather changes), with support for Linux and Fire TV.
