During the CES 2026 exhibition, LG revealed its new robot, CLOiD, which comes with a human-like design and superior capabilities that enable it to perform complex household chores such as folding laundry, unloading dishwashers, and serving food. The company equipped this robot with articulated arms and a head unit supported by artificial intelligence that enables it to communicate with users and control connected smart devices. This announcement came to promise users to regain the free hours that are usually consumed by household chores.
The robot features a nice-looking head unit that contains a screen, cameras, and advanced sensors that help it navigate living spaces, while its mechanical composition relies on two arms with fully mobile joints at the shoulder, elbow, and wrist, in addition to two hands that have fingers that move independently, giving it the precise skill needed to handle sensitive objects such as croissants or plates of food. Its base uses wheels for movement similar to those found in current robotic vacuums to slide smoothly across rooms, but the ability of its arms is currently limited to picking up objects that are at or above knee level. This means that items thrown on the floor, such as socks, will remain in place until the user picks them up himself.

LG demonstrated the robot’s various capabilities through a demonstration that showed it starting laundry cycles and folding clothes after completing them. It also appeared in another scene standing next to a person while doing home exercises, although the exact nature of the assistance it provides in this context is not completely clear. It appears from the current data that CLOiD still represents a technical concept and not a product ready for immediate release on store shelves, as LG stated its intention to continue developing home robots with practical functions and forms to serve household chores while integrating these robotics technologies into devices. Another, bringing the dream of a fully automated home one step closer to reality even if the official release date is still in the future.
