Lenovo unveiled a new model of the Legion Pro Rollable laptop during CES 2026, which features a horizontally expandable screen to provide a larger display area with the click of a button. This model is an evolution of the idea of stretchable screens that the company presented previously, but it focuses on horizontal stretching to transform the screen from a size of 16 inches to approximately 21 inches, providing a wide viewing experience for gaming and productivity.
The Legion Pro Rollable relies on a flexible OLED display with up to 3.2K HD resolution in extended mode, with a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 600 nits brightness, and HDR support for rich colors and high contrast. Stretching is done via a side button that activates an internal mechanical mechanism that allows the screen to stretch smoothly, while maintaining durability and thinness. The device runs on an Intel Core Ultra Series 2 or AMD Ryzen AI 400 processor, with RTX 50-series graphics cards, up to 64GB of memory, 2TB SSD storage, and a battery that lasts up to 12 hours in normal mode.
At the demo, Lenovo showed how the extended display can be used for multi-screen gaming, video editing with a wide timeline, or viewing large spreadsheets, with a full physical keyboard and Thunderbolt 5 and Wi-Fi 7 ports. The device supports AI technologies to optimize picture and sound, with an advanced cooling system to maintain performance while stretched.
Lenovo has not announced a price or commercial availability for the device, as it remains a model, with a commercial version likely to be released in 2027 or later based on development and feedback.
