If you’ve ever wondered how to take a screenshot on a Mac or MacBook, you’ve come to the right place, as we’ll explain all the ways you can take a screenshot on a Mac.

The latest version of the Mac operating system, MacOS 10.14 Mojave features revamped Screenshot and Screen Recording tools, so when you take a screenshot on a Mac (by pressing Command (⌘) + shift + (3,4), the captured image appears at the bottom left of the screen, as on iOS phones.

You can click on the thumbnail that pops up in the lower left corner of the screen, to perform editing operations such as cropping, rotating, adding annotations to the captured image, or sharing it with others. You can also send the screenshot to your favorite photo editing app instantly.

Tap and tap on the thumbnail to reveal the shortcut that sends the screenshot to a popular folder or app, or to reveal the file in the default folder where you store your screenshots.

The default screenshots folder can be set by pressing Shift + Command (⌘) + 5 to call up a new toolbar. (You can drag the captured image to the location you want.)

Note that there is more than one way to take screenshots in the Mac operating system, and in this article we will learn about some of them.
