Starting next July, updates to Google Chrome and browsers built on Chromium will stop working on Mac devices released before 2018. Google’s official support page explained that Chrome 150 will be the last version of the famous browser that supports macOS 12 Monterey.

Since macOS 13 Ventura does not support Macs released before 2017, users who are still using older hardware will have to either purchase a new Mac, or switch to another browser to stay up to date with the latest features and security updates.

Ventura’s list of officially supported Intel Macs includes: iMac from 2017 and later, iMac Pro 2017, Mac mini from 2018 and later, Mac Pro 2019 and later, MacBook Pro from 2017 and later, MacBook Air from 2018 and later, and MacBook from 2017.

It should be noted that all Apple Silicon Macs are still supported. As for users of unsupported Intel devices, they can rely on the Firefox browser, as their devices support macOS 10.15 Catalina. Other Chromium-based browsers such as Brave and Opera will also stop supporting macOS Monterey this July.
