Asus has completely redesigned the Zenbook Duo, and the result is the best dual-screen convertible on the market. The hinge has been improved, there are new OLED displays with improved brightness, a much larger battery, and an additionally improved keyboard. There is also a “Panther Lake” processor. The Asus Zenbook has been one of the most interesting dual-screen convertibles of the past couple of years, and we recently reviewed the latest model, the Zenbook Duo UX8407. The device offers a lot of improvements, and this is even without talking about the new “Intel Panther Lake” processor. Thus, the manufacturer addressed some of the weaknesses of the previous model and also improved other aspects.

This starts with the basic design, the main aspect being the redesigned hinge. Thanks to the new architecture, the gap between the two screens is now much smaller than before, which makes a huge difference, especially in desktop mode. Thanks to a new hinge and a slightly modified kickstand design, the convertible is now more stable in this position, an aspect we previously criticized.

Other aspects have been improved as well. The battery is now much larger (99 watt-hours instead of 75 watt-hours), resulting in very long battery operation times, even when using both displays. The keyboard has been further improved as well: key travel is now 1.7mm, and the removable keyboard is extremely durable, so the typing experience is very comfortable (even better than most laptops), both when used on the device itself and when detached. Further improvements have also been made to the two OLED displays. All 2026 Zenbook Duo models are equipped with the same 144Hz HD touchscreen with enhanced brightness (~500 nits in SDR mode, up to 1,000 nits in HDR mode) and excellent image quality. This is a great advantage, as you can easily transfer content between the two screens without any hassle

Considering the hardware and quality, the size of the Zenbook Duo (which is slightly larger than the previous model) and especially its lighter weight are very good. However, it only makes sense if you can really take advantage of the two displays. Regular single-screen laptops with similar performance ratings are significantly thinner and lighter, which is of course not surprising. But if you can take advantage of the Zenbook Duo’s versatility, you’ll get a really good overall package without any serious issues. All of these things may already be enough, but there is also the new “Intel Panther Lake” processor. It offers good performance rates, especially in combination with slower performing files. This means you get plenty of performance for everyday tasks without being distracted by fan noise.
