Within the framework of following up on the progress of the electoral process, and in implementation of the directives of Major General Dr. Hassan Abdel Aziz, Assistant Minister of the Interior and Director of Sohag Security, the security services concerned with securing one of the electoral districts in the Jarga Police Station District in Sohag were able to arrest 5 people and a woman in the vicinity of the district.
Follow up on the progress of the elections in Girga
Upon examination, they were found in possession of a number of national ID cards belonging to some citizens, and electoral propaganda cards for two candidates, in addition to sums of money. It was found that they were prepared to be distributed to voters if they visited their electoral committees, with the intention of influencing them and pushing them to vote for them.
The necessary legal measures were taken regarding the incident, and the investigating authorities were notified to initiate investigations.
