Earlier this month, Mark Gurman of… Bloomberg Apple is “exploring” the idea of a foldable iPhone with a “square, clamshell” design.

The clamshell iPhone will be released sometime after Apple’s first foldable iPhone, which is expected to open like a book, similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7. This design will provide users with a large internal screen for watching videos and gaming, and there will likely be multitasking functionality. On the other hand, a clamshell iPhone will be more focused on portability and ease of putting it in a pocket.

Other rumors indicate that Apple’s first foldable iPhone will feature a 7.8-inch wrinkle-free inner display, a 5.5-inch cover display, Touch ID, two rear cameras, an A20 chip, and a “C2” modem. It is expected to be launched alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in the fall.
