A new report coming from Asia once again confirmed Apple’s intention to postpone the launch of the standard iPhone 18 version until the spring of next year, instead of launching it alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max during the fall of this year. This decision is an unusual step that reflects a clear shift in the company’s strategy regarding launch dates.
According to the report, both the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max will arrive at their usual time during the fall, with Apple unveiling the first foldable phone called the iPhone Fold in the same period. On the other hand, the regular iPhone 18 is expected to be launched during the first half of next year.
Multiple sources explained to Nikkei Asia that this step aims to improve resource management and maximize revenues from leading models, especially in light of the noticeable rise in memory chip prices. The information also indicated that the next generation of iPhone Air may appear later in 2027 alongside the iPhone 18.
On the other hand, Apple seeks to reduce the risks of production stumbles during the start of mass manufacturing of the first foldable phone in its history. Therefore, this change in the launch schedule is expected to help the company manage the supply chain more efficiently and achieve a better balance between supply and demand.
