Samsung recently unveiled the Galaxy Z TriFold with its three-panel foldable design, and the phone came with a triple rear camera setup. However, it appears that the company was considering a completely different setup during the early development stages.
Pictures have appeared on LinkedIn, published by a Samsung executive, that clearly indicate testing of a prototype of the Galaxy Z TriFold equipped with four rear cameras.
The official appears carrying the device, but examining the images reveals the presence of four openings for the camera, with the fourth opening appearing to be similar in diameter but slightly thinner, which suggests that it was intended for an additional sensor.

These shots indicate that Samsung may have planned to launch the device with a quad-camera setup, before retracting the idea in the final version.
As for the official version of the Galaxy Z TriFold, it comes with a 200-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens, in addition to a 10-megapixel telephoto camera with up to 3x optical zoom.
The device is scheduled to go on sale in South Korea on December 12, and will later arrive in China, Taiwan, Singapore, the UAE, and the United States.
