Xiaomi is expected to unveil the Xiaomi 18 series later this year, including a basic version alongside the Xiaomi 18 Pro. Despite the scarcity of information so far, new leaks indicate a major leap in imaging capabilities.
According to the leaker Digital Chat Station, a flagship phone with a 6.3-inch screen may have two rear cameras with a resolution of 200 megapixels each. Although the leak did not explicitly mention the name, the accompanying comments suggest that it is the Xiaomi 18 Pro.
For comparison, in the Xiaomi 17 series, Xiaomi provided 6.3-inch screens for both the regular version and the Pro version, but the Pro version alone featured stronger photography equipment. The company is expected to continue the same approach with the Xiaomi 18 Pro, by providing it with a 200-megapixel dual camera system, with the Pro Max version possibly receiving the same upgrade.

Xiaomi is likely to rely on a 200-megapixel main camera, along with a periscope camera for optical zoom with the same resolution, in a trend similar to what is rumored about phones such as the vivo X300 Ultra and Oppo Find X9s.
In the same context, the Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max versions may maintain the back screen and a general design close to the previous generation, while the leaks also indicate that the basic version of the Xiaomi 18 may in turn get a periscope camera for zoom.
