Chancellor Turk Al-Sheikh responded to the prolonged criticism The woman’s movie Since the release of his promo, he pointed out that he saw the work in a special screening of the film, and came out happy, despite his pessimism at first due to all the criticism directed at the work on social media, stressing that when that work is shown, the Gulf and Egyptian audiences will be happy with it, because of its huge budget.
Turk Al-Sheikh said in a video on his official Facebook account: I saw the things on social media regarding the movie Al-Sit. We, like the Film Fund, are the sponsors, and we did not even interfere in the directing or anything in the matter.
He continued: When I saw the hype, I went to watch the movie and I was pessimistic, and my brother Marwan Mushkour arranged a special showing of the movie for me.
He added: I come out of the movie happy, and I congratulate him on the movie. I have good quality in photography and production, and I know the movie’s huge budget.
He added: I expect the film will achieve great popularity for the Arab audience, which will return to watching and hearing Umm Kulthum and reading about Umm Kulthum’s biography.
He concluded his speech: I think that our audience in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will like it greatly, and I expect in Egypt as well.
The woman’s movie
The film Al-Sit deals with the biography of Umm Kulthum, and a group of stars participate in the work alongside Mona Zaki, including: the artist Ahmed Khaled Saleh, Sayed Ragab, Ahmed Dawoud, Tamer Nabil, in addition to the appearance of many guests of honour, including the artist Karim Abdel Aziz, Ahmed Helmy, Nelly Karim, and Amina Khalil, written by Ahmed Murad and directed by Marwan Hamed. The work is also one of the largest anticipated film production projects, and is scheduled to reveal new secrets in the life of Umm Kulthum.
